Russian pistol shooter Mikhail Nestruev added to his Athens haul today by winning the 50m Free Pistol Gold medal, to go with the Silver he won at the 10m Air Pistol event on Saturday.
"I mainly concentrated on my performance and I tried to reach my very best", said Mikhail
Republic of Korea shooter Jin Jong Oh was leading all through the finals until his disasterous 6.9 in his seventh shot. “I did not think I would have pulled the trigger all the way. It was a mistake and maybe I was just too full of tension.”
This mistake was all that Mikhail needed to take the Gold medal place. Bronze medal went to North Korean shooter KIM Jong Su, an interesting point being that his pistol was a Toz-35, which as you will remember is the same model as was recently licenced in Ireland for the first time in 30 years.
