The February Open will be held at Rathdrum Rifle and Pistol Club on Saturday/Sunday 9th/10th February 2008. This is an Open competition, no membership requirement necessary.

Congratulations to Paul Flanagan from Hilltop Shooting Club who is the new National Pistol Champion. A sizeable contingent of lads from Hilltop entered the competition and proved that the instruction they were getting from Alan Kelly was on the money by taking first and second places in the competition. DURC are holding their airgun open this weekend in UCD. There will be a detail on Thursday night next, the 8th of Nov. at 7.00pm. There will be three details on Sunday, the 11th of Nov. at 10.00am, 12.00pm and at 2.00pm. It is hoped also to run a 'fun final' at 4.00pm. Entry fees for this match are 10.00euro for Students and 15.00euro for Adults. Booking can be made by contacting the Club via email at rifle@tcd.ie or by phone to 087 2683477. The Leinster Indoor Open was won by Richard Stapleton Jr. of Wilkinstown Target Shooting Club with a score of 584. Second was Wes Halliday from BRC Sporting Club, who achieved a personal best of 579 in only his third competitive outing. Third was Tony Cogan of Dublin Rifle Club with a score of 578. The 3x20 3P competition the previous day was won by Sean Baldwin of the Defence Forces Shooting Team with a score of 559. | | No comments for this item |

Results just in from the Conseil International du Sport Militaire 4th Military World Games in Hyderabad India where Ray Kane, Sean Baldwin and Liam Crawford are representing the Irish Defence Forces in the shooting sports (Liam as Coach). The results are from the 300m 3x20 team competition. Ray Kane scored 556 and Sean Baldwin scored 546. | | No comments for this item |
